RecycleMania
Know
of a college or university with a great recycling
program, or one that needs improving? RecycleMania
is a 10-week competition geared towards increasing
student awareness of campus recycling and waste
minimization. This year’s competition will run
from
January 28, 2007 to April 7, 2007. Registration
for the 2007 RecycleMania competition opens on
September 29, 2006. For more information, please

CRT
Rule
In
July 2006, EPA issued a new rule regarding cathode
ray tubes (CRTs)the glass video display
component of an electronic device (usually a computer
or television monitor)streamlining management
requirements for recycling used CRTs. CRTs contain
enough lead to classify them as hazardous waste
under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
(RCRA), but with this new regulation, used, unbroken
CRTs are not regulated as hazardous waste unless
they are stored for more than a year. With the
CRT Rule, it should be easier for you to reuse
or recycle your used computer monitors or TVs.
For more information, please go to the CRT
Recycling Made Easy Web site.
